Welcome back to the blog. I appreciate you checking out another post. This upload will talk about COVID case numbers in the U.S. and specifically California.
California is one of the 50 states that has taken a huge hit during the COVID pandemic. Since California has one of the largest populations in the country, there ahs been a lot of COVID cases and unfortunately deaths in the past year. December 26, 2020 was the day where the highest amount of confirmed cases was reported in the past few months at 79,919 and 20 deaths were added to the total number. As of May 13, 2021 California has a total of 3,763,317 confirmed cases and out of those 3 and a half million people 62, 467 have died. There was a point in 2020 where California had the highest number of confirmed cases. Here is a YouTube video from early 2020 talking about a huge spike in COVID numbers: California Exceeds New York In Coronavirus Cases As Numbers Spike Nationwide | TODAY – YouTube (not a hyperlink, multimedia element)
As unfortunate as it is, the United States is the top country in the world with 33,017,234 confirmed cases and that leads the entire world. Out of the 33 million people who have contracted COVID, there has been 589,984 deaths across the country. The U.S. unfortunately has been hit so hard that the country has had to shut down multiple times and the economy has taken a huge hit. Small businesses have been shut down, people have limited social contact, our world will forever be changed.
In recent history there hasn’t been anything that has caused this much destruction to the world. This is going to be something that will be in our kids and grandkids history textbooks and stories will be told of the times dealing with the COVID pandemic. Luckily I have stayed relatively health amongst the pandemic and the people close to me have been healthy as well. I am just hoping for the best as we continue to get people vaccinated and hopefully we can return to the world we once knew as safe.
